Product Series
Counterpoint Blocks explores the charged space between structure and gesture. Across the series, rectangular fields, interrupted grids, arcs, and concentric forms are assembled into dense vertical compositions that feel both architectural and bodily. Saturated pinks, coral reds, and vermilion create a warm center of gravity, while pale blue, deep navy, orange, ivory, and occasional black introduce sharp shifts in temperature and weight. The paintings do not settle into a fixed geometry: straight seams give way to curved bands, open circles interrupt blocks of pigment, and small irregular fragments keep the surface in motion. Thickly worked oil paint makes those decisions tangible, with raised passages, scraped areas, broken edges, and visible directional marks preserving the evidence of the hand. The result is a collection with a strong shared visual language but no single repeated arrangement. Each work balances order against disruption, producing a lively rhythm suited to contemporary, mid-century-inspired, and color-conscious interiors. Together, the paintings read as variations on a visual vocabulary of intervals, pressure, and release.
