Deposited Light

Earthen Current traces the meeting point of weight and movement. Across the collection, broad organic forms sweep through the vertical format in arcs, folds, and converging gestures, suggesting sediment shifting beneath a luminous surface. Warm ivory and cream grounds create open space, while ochre, sienna, umber, and muted olive-gray gather into denser passages of warmth and depth. The restrained palette keeps the works grounded, but the directional brushwork gives each composition a sense of continuous motion. Layered oil pigment moves between softly brushed areas, visible canvas grain, scraped edges, and raised ridges that catch the light. The paintings evoke folded earth, mineral surfaces, and the slow energy of erosion without describing a specific landscape. Each work turns around its own balance of openness and pressure, shadow and radiance, while remaining part of a shared visual language.
