Quiet Structures

Quiet Structures is built on a single tension: compositions that feel deliberately constructed and, at the same time, gently taken apart. Irregular rectangles, trapezoids, wedges, and arches interlock across the canvas like fragments of an imagined building — part plan, part facade — held in place by quiet horizontal and vertical lines, then loosened again by uneven, hand-painted edges. Warm ivory grounds carry most of each composition, punctuated by ochre and amber fields, rust-red planes, and blocks of slate blue, ink black, and deep navy that anchor the picture like load-bearing walls. The oil paint is applied thickly and worked back — palette-knife planes, scraped edges, thin scratched contour lines, and the faint grain of canvas beneath give every surface a layered, tactile presence. No single place is depicted. Instead, the works suggest what it feels like to move through an architectural space — fragmented, balanced, and constantly shifting. Each painting resolves itself on its own terms, yet all speak the same visual language: a calm, deliberate order assembled from broken pieces.

Artwork 01

P039 | Amber Stack – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

The eye climbs. An amber column stacks block over block toward the top of the canvas, each plane a slightly different width, so the rise feels built rather than drawn. At the upper right, a wide ivory arch swings past the column and lets...

Artwork 04

P042 | The Orange Fan – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

A single arc starts it. Inside a black rectangle at the upper left, a peach-orange fan opens in steps, part arch and part sunrise, and everything else on the canvas answers to it. A tall ivory panel drops through the center, an amber column...

P043 | Black Beam – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Artwork 05

P043 | Black Beam – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

The beam comes first. A heavy black band runs across the top of the canvas like a lintel, and everything below arranges itself under its weight — a rounded rust-red block at the left, pale ivory panels through the middle, a mustard column at...

P044 | The Slate Disc – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Artwork 06

P044 | The Slate Disc – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

One shape does the work. A big slate-blue half disc rises on the left of the canvas, flat side down, curving slowly enough that it reads more like architecture than a circle. Beside it, ivory and cream panels stand in loose columns; black and...

P045 | The Navy Slab – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Artwork 07

P045 | The Navy Slab – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Cool anchor, warm body. A rounded navy slab blocks in the upper left with a red stripe running down its side, while the rest of the canvas stays dry ivory, ochre, and cream. The strangest shape sits at the right: a tall cream panel...

P046 | The Rust Panel – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Artwork 08

P046 | The Rust Panel – Geometric Abstract Wall Art

Rust carries it. One large rounded rust-red panel takes the right half of the canvas, its corners eased and its edge scraped back into the ivory ground. Against that warmth, the upper left turns cool: navy and ink blocks cluster around a pale blue...
