"Between the Marks" is organized around two interlocking black planes: a tall vertical block at the left and a broad horizontal field across the lower half. Their meeting point forms an abstract threshold, leaving a generous ivory opening above and to the right. Small dark deposits and fine lines extend into this open area, keeping the composition active at the edges.

The limited palette of charcoal black and warm white makes every shift in proportion visible. The surrounding ground carries faint drag marks, dry scumbles, and scattered flecks, so the empty space feels porous rather than blank.
